DANCE | Viral Dances on YouTube

This week, we take a look at some of YouTube's cutest and most enjoyable dance performances.

So what is it about amateur videos that makes it go viral? Perhaps it's because of the novelty that brings along with it or the unexpected gratification viewers derive from seeing people do things out of the ordinary.

Concert at the Shop with Robert Cazimero - and a guest Hula Dancer

Some background story- the hula dancer is Alaka'i Lastimado. He works as a flight attendant for Hawaiian Airlines. He's now based in Hawaii. He dances Hula for sure, and with that killer smile and eye candy looks, no wonder Internet went gaga over it.

In 2009, a viral video of guys doing some Dreamgirls song and dance impressions surfaced. The video captions - Ryan Jackson, Logan Keslar, Billy Fagen from the 50th Anniversary tour of West Side Story recreated 2 numbers from Dreamgirls, the movie for the cast of West Side on our closing nite.

Turns out that the dance number was performed by stage performers. And boy, was it a standout. In fact, the choreo was so on point that a side by side comparison reveals how much thought and effort was put into this. And if you ever wonder if they are gays or not, who cares- they are fabulous. Enough said.

Jeremy Jordan - "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" (Broadway Loves Celine Dion)

Okay not really a dance video, but heck- this club singer blew me away with his rendition of Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back To Me Now". I've been following the singer, his name is Jeremy Jordan, and my quick check on him says  that he's a theater/broadway singer. He's had several other performances across the USA.

Darren Criss and Lea Salonga - A Whole New World (at Marie's Crisis)

I am a biased Lea Salonga fan, and when Darren Criss decided to hit the piano keys to sing "A Whole New World" in a crowded bar- it's just spectacular. You don't get to see stage people sing like this very often. And that doesn't end there, because Lea decided to give a free Le Miserables concert by singing "On My Own"

Darren Criss Introduces Lea Salonga at Marie's Crisis NYC ... She Sings "On My Own"

Lea Salonga is busy as a judge in Philippines' franchise of "The Voice" and she's got a very cute pixie haircut now. Darren Criss on the other hand is set to star in "American Crime Story" as Andrew Cunanan, yes, the guy who killed Versace in the US.
