PHOTOGRAPHY | Photos of Old Lucena

Lucena City has a rich history that is probably not passed down to the younger generations. During my younger years, I was never concerned about my birth place. It was always there anyway so I didn't really bother.

In the photo above, we see the St. Ferdinand Cathedral & the building beside it the used to be Maryknoll Academy. Taken in 1966, already over a decade after the Japanese Occupation; the school was run by Dominican sisters. To this day, the school remains under the care of the Dominican sisters.

But at the rate of things going, with changes and so called development; the city that I grew up to love completely transformed into something that I wouldn't be able to recognize anymore.

Thanks to Facebook, photos of the days yonder have resurfaced and we are able to have a glimpse of how Lucena City looked like.
